Jewelry care
Gold plating
As the jewel is not entirely solid gold, it’s important to follow these practical care methods to keep the shine of your gold plated jewelry and and maximize its lifespan:
- Avoid contact between jewelry and perfume, make-up, body oils, sun creams, lotions.
- Do not wear jewellery when you sleep, swim or practice sports.
- Remove plated jewelry prior to washing your hands, or bathing.
- Store your piece of jewelry separately and in its original packaging to avoid damages or scratches.
- To prevent tarnishing or oxidation, keep your jewelry away from direct sunlight, in a dark, cool and dry place.
- Keep your chains and bracelets fastened so they don’t get mixed up.
Sterling silver
With time and wear, sterling silver jewelry pieces may lose their original brilliance. To bring back and maintain their shine, you can clean them with a soft and non-abrasive jewelry cloth. You can also wash them with warm water and a gentle hand soap using a soft toothbrush. We do not recommend using any jewelry polishes as these usually contain harsh abrasives which can considerably damage your jewelry.
Gemstones
Natural gemstones can be fragile. Do not use paper towels to clean your gemstones as they can cause scratching. To keep gemstones clean and shiny, lightly scrub with a soft-bristled brush, warm water, and detergent-free soap. Avoid chemicals or excessive temperatures when cleaning. Store in a safe, dry place when not worn to protect them from the elements of daily exposure.
